1.PACS 9.0 Installation #

Use these topics as a reference when installing PACS 9.0.

You can install either the light version of PACS 9.0, or the full version, which requires the installation of Adobe Acrobat and .NET Framework prior to installing PACS 9.0. (For details about prerequisites for the full version, see Installing PACS 9.0: Full Version.)

The successful completion of a PACS 9.0 installation installs the following components on a PC:

  • PACS.ADMIN Client
  • PACS.NET Client
  • Crystal Reports redistributables
  • ArcGIS Engine Runtime
  • MapObjects Runtime
  • Microsoft Office Add-ins Runtime
  • Letter Processing, if chosen (optional)

1.1.Distributing an ArcGIS License #

Purpose

Use this procedure if you have purchased an ArcGIS license and need to distribute it to multiple PCs when you install PACS 9.0.

Procedure

  1. Rename your ArcGIS license file to: ArcGISLicense.ecp

    Note   To distribute your license from your network and register it on multiple PCs, you must rename the license file exactly as shown above.

  2. Copy all of the PACS 9.0 installation directories and installer files to a network directory:

    install_files

    • GlobalAssembly Cache
    • ISSSetupPrerequisites
    • program files
    • System 32
    • Windows
    • PACS.msi or PACSClientSetupLight.msi
    • setup.exe
  3. Within the program files directory, choose ArcGIS > Bin.
  4. Within the Bin directory, replace and overwrite the file ArcGISLicense.ecp with your ArcGIS license file ArcGISLicense.ecp.

1.2.Installing PACS 9.0: Light Version #

Purpose

Use this procedure to install PACS 9.0 on a PC.

Prerequisites

Microsoft Office 2007 has been installed.

Procedure

  1. Double-click setup.exe to launch the PACSClientSetupLight – Install Shield Wizard.

  2. Click Next.
  3. Read and accept the terms of the license agreement. Then click Next.

  4. Either change or accept the path of the folder in which the PACS 9.0 files will be stored. Then click Next.

    Note We recommend accepting the path C:\Program Files\True Automation\PACS 9.0.

  5. Choose the set up type. We recommend using the set up type Complete, but if you do not want to install the TA Letter Processing component, click Custom and then complete the following options:
    1. Click the TA_Letter_Processing icon.

    2. Choose one of the following options:
      • If you need to omit the TA Letter Processing component from installation, select This feature will not be available.
      • If you need to extract the TA Letter Processing files but would like to wait until another time to install them, select This feature will be installed when required.
  6. Click Next.
  7. If you need to review or change any of your installation settings, click Back. Otherwise, click Install.

  8. Wait while the installation progresses.
  9. When the last window of the wizard is displayed, click Finish.

1.3.Installing PACS 9.0: Full Version #

Purpose

Use this procedure to install PACS 9.0 on a PC.

Prerequisites

Before installing the full version of PACS 9.0 verify that the following components have been installed:

  • Microsoft Office 2007
  • Adobe Acrobat 9.0
  • .NET Framework version 2.0
  • .NET Framework version 3.0
  • .NET Framework version 3.5

Procedure

  1. Double-click setup.exe to launch the PACS – Install Shield Wizard.

  2. Click Next.
  3. Read and accept the terms of the license agreement. Then click Next.

  4. Either change or accept the path of the folder in which the PACS 9.0 files will be stored. Then click Next.

  5. Choose the set up type. We recommend using the set up type Complete, but if you do not want to install the Letter Processing component, click Custom and then complete the following options:
    1. Click the Letter_Processing icon.

  6. Click Next.

    Launch the Installation

  8. Wait while the installation progresses.
  9. When the last window of the wizard is displayed, click Finish.
